Buy Blue

To those of you still checking this thing, God bless you!
I just wanted to let you know about a great resource I've found. The website is www.buyblue.org and they have an interactive list of all the PAC contributions being made my major companies. The also have each business categorized as either RED (giving a majority of their money to Republican or right wing PACS), WHITE (giving equal amouts to the both Republicans and Democrats) and BLUE (giving a majority of their political contributions to Democratic organizations).
There are some good suprises. For instance, while the Holiday Inn gives a lot of money to the right wing, the Hyatt and the Hilton are solidly blue, so it looks like we have better hotels than the Republicans.
We have to let go of Wal-mart and K-mart, but we get to keep shopping at the highly superior stores of Bed Bath and Beyond, and Crate and Barrel (like any one would really like to shop at Wal-mart anyway!).
Suprisingly, we cannot justify buying our books through Amazon, but we can still feel good about supporting E-bay and Barnes and Noble.
All in all, the list says we can be better dressed, better read, and have better furnished homes if you just buy blue!
Take a look at the list for yourself; it is very user friendly! Be prepared to face the prospect of never being able to eat at the Olive Garden free of guilt again, but take comfort in the fact that while you may not be able to stop the Republicans from getting large sums of money from your favorite businesses, you can stop those buinesses from getting their PAC funding from you!
